Join Laree Schouweiler, yoga teacher and founder of the Driftless Yoga Festival, for a “Rise & Shine Yoga Flow” on the Dahl Centennial Union terrace overlooking the Oneota River Valley. This vinyasa-based class is designed to explore the ecosystem of yoga: breath, gentle flow & rest. No previous yoga experience necessary and some mats will be available (but bring your own if you know you’ll be there). In an effort to make class accessible, sliding scale options, with suggested donation for class of $5-$15.
Our fundraiser for MEEC is a raffle drawing for baskets/items sponsored by each state. The revenue from each state’s basket will go to that state, as a way to generate some additional revenue. To bump up that possibility, we are offering online sales so we can garner some support from those NOT attending MEEC!
Online tickets are available now until 5:00 pm on Monday, July 26. Then, we transition to only on-site sales during the conference and will be doing the drawing on Wednesday evening. You don’t need to be present to win!
The Midwest EE Conference registration closed July 2, 2021.
Attendees and presenters will receive email(s) with conference details and updates within the next couple weeks. This email will come from ICEC email exec@iowaee.org.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding as we navigate bringing professionals together for this conference!
The conference committee is extending the early bird registration window through June 16, 2021!
You do not want to miss this biennial conference, hosted by ICEC, in the beautiful Driftless Area of Iowa!

Looking for some more budget-friendly and nearby lodging options for the Midwest EE Conference? In addition to hotel rooms, AirBNBs, and local camping, how about dorm rooms just a few steps from the conference? Luther College will be offering (air-conditioned) dorm lodging for MEEC attendees for around $50/night. All lodging options—including Luther housing—will be booked directly with the lodging venue. Reservations for hotels, Airbnbs, and camping are open now. We’ll post a link on the conference website when Luther housing reservations open.
The Planning Committee for the Midwest Environmental Education Conference is excited to announce that the 2021 conference will be an in-person event! We look forward to safely bringing together environmental educators from across the Midwest to grow, network, and converse together!
The safety and health of all will be a primary focus of the conference. The planning committee is in continual conversations with host Luther College and the City of Decorah about protocols that will allow us to safely gather.
Lodging information is now available on the conference website. For those interested in camping or Airbnbs/VRBOs, we recommend making reservations as soon as possible!
Additional conference details will be released over the coming weeks and registration will open May 1.
Think broadly about what environmental education is, who it serves, and how it is presented. Proposals for all styles of presentations – from 5 minutes “speed sessions” to all-day field experiences are encouraged.
For more information, please visit the Call for Presentations page, or download the Call for Presentations PDF!
Submit your proposal by November 15, 2020.
